Prepare for the performance appraisal meeting

  • Review the goals for your team and the specific goals that you delegate to the individual
  • Consider the progress that he or she has made to achieving those goals
  • If you are concerned about progress towards the goals, check to make sure that the person has had sufficient resources
  • Reflect on the demonstrated skills and knowledge and prepare to suggest areas that he or she may seek to develop competence in
  • Provide your therapist with some assistance to help prepare for the performance planning and review meeting
  • Make sure that the team member knows what the meeting is about, provide minutes from the team meeting when the team goals were established
